How to get a scholarship:
Students seeking a scholarship should write a letter stating their request to the SimBuild Organizing Committee; the letter must be co-signed by an academic advisor. Email the letter to sarahphinney@tees.tamus.edu or send it to Sarah Phinney, Energy Systems Lab, 3581 TAMU, College Station, TX 77843-3581
What a scholarship entails:
Non-local students: Conference registration, accommodation, networking reception, & lunches + $200 travel expenses
Scholarship for students who do not live in the tri-state area covers student registration, 3 nights at the NYU Greenwhich Hotel, three box lunches at the Kimmel Center Wed-Fri, and $200 for travel expenses. Upon acceptance of the student's scholarship request, we will register the student for the conference and make arrangements at the Greenwhich Hotel; the student will be issued a $200 check for travel expenses.
The NYU Greenwhich Hotel is located at 636 Greenwhich, a 10-minute walk from the Kimmel Center, where the conference will be held. Note that there is a limited number of Greenwhich Hotel rooms reserved for SimBuild student attendees, and not every non-local student who is granted a scholarship will get a room in the Hotel, so be sure to write to us ASAP.
If you do not get a room in the Greenwhich Hotel, we suggest that you try Hotel 17, an inexpensive hotel near Union Square (20 minutes away by foot and 10 minutes away by subway).
Local students: Conference registration, networking reception & lunches
Scholarship for students who live in the tri-state area and do not need accommodation during the conference covers student registration and box lunches at the Kimmel Center Wed-Fri.
