Through its grid-interactive efficient building (GEB) research, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Office (BTO) seeks to build on existing energy efficiency efforts and develop technological capabilities to optimize the interplay between building loads and the electric grid. This webinar focuses on connected lighting systems, consumer electronics/IT equipment technologies, and miscellaneous electric loads with demand flexibility potential. High and medium potential connected lighting technologies include advanced sensors and controls and hybrid daylighting systems. High and medium potential electronics technologies include continuous-operation electronics (i.e., network equipment, desktop PCs, servers) and battery-powered electronics (i.e., laptops, tablets, UPS battery backups).
