Technical presentation - Sagar Rao and Fred Betz from AEI presenting Rapid Consulting and Compliance Modeling 5:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
AEI will present its workflow for modeling large scale and complex buildings with a live demonstration. Past applications include a 760,000 square foot regional academic health center with over 50 space types and 1,100 zones, a net zero energy laboratory, a historic center of performing arts, and an assortment of academic buildings. AEI has delivered over a dozen projects using this streamlined workflow various project phases, including early concept models, design assist, complete code and LEED submittals, and post-occupancy retro-commissioning Sagar and Fred after the talk at AEI's exhibit table for additional demonstrations and exploring the fundamentals of this powerful workflow.

Dessert Talk - Benny Skelton, Cyclone Energy, Lessons learned from modeling a net-zero energy facility, 7:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
A brief presentation on the modeling approach for a complex Walgreen's facility designed for net zero energy incorporating renewable energy sources, ground-coupled heat exchange, and commercial refrigeration using a transcritical CO2 compressor. The talk will include lessons learned from the process including a contrast of the actual operation of the facility.
