Congratulations to the 2019 Ralph T. Muehleisen Scholarship Award Winners
IBPSA-USA would like to congratulate Insung Kang, and Yin Ling Ng as the winners of the 2019 Ralph T. Muehleisen Scholarship Award! The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage qualified degree candidates in seeking academic and career development in the field of building performance simulation and analysis. The Chicago Chapter (CHIBPSA) Board announced the winners on Jan. 14th, and each will be awarded the $250 scholarship in-person at the next CHIBPSA Meetup on February 12, 2019.

About the Scholarship:
Dr. Ralph T. Muehleisen has led research to increase the energy efficiency and resiliency of the built environment while improving the quality of life. His projects include urban science and engineering, stochastic building energy modeling, reduced order building energy modeling, risk analysis of building energy retrofits, Bayesian Calibration methods for building energy models, agent-based models for understanding adoption of retrofit technologies, smart building/smart grid integration, and the development of new technologies for measuring building infiltration and reducing energy losses through windows. Dr. Muehleisen is the author of over 150 publications and is a frequent invited speaker in the areas of urban science and engineering, building energy modeling, architectural acoustics and noise control. For his continued contributions in the fields of engineering and science, advancement in education and research, unwavering mentorship of others, unremitting inspiration to the building simulation community, and prominence as an industry innovator the CHIBPSA Board of Directors would like to honor Dr. Muehleisen by establishing a Scholarship in his name.
