The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of IBPSA-USA will host its first ever Building Simulation Conference on July 9th-10th, 2020 at the Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco, California. The conference will bring together the building performance simulation community from across the state for a full day of seminars, panels, and workshops. The focus of the conference will be the latest trends in the building simulation industry affecting the state of California, including decarbonization, resiliency, and electrification. This conference is being organized with support from the US Department of Energy and will be a platform for researchers and practitioners in the BEM domain to discuss topics relevant to the community in California.

The conference is currently seeking presenters and panelists on topics from the list below. The topics for the conference include (but are not limited to):

  • Grid Harmonization
  • District Energy 
  • Urban Scale Modeling
  • Micro-Grids & Battery Storage
  • Daylight Modeling
  • Thermal Comfort Modeling
  • Natural Ventilation & Passive Design

  • Codes and Standards
  • Incentive Programs
  • Case Studies

Presentation Abstracts (250 or less words in length) are due March 31st. If accepted, presentations will be due mid-June 2020. Please submit your abstracts to:
