With the advent of powerful cloud computing, a new ‘Pedestrian Comfort Analysis’ application has been developed by simulationHub that performs the CFD simulations on the cloud and provides comfort and safety plots for large-scale models within hours. Through introduction and case study, this session illustrates the ‘Pedestrian Comfort Analysis’ app to assess pedestrian wind comfort and safety across urban building design.

IBPSA Project 1 develops open-source software that builds the basis of next generation computing tools for the design and operation of building and district energy and control systems. Conducted from 2017 to 2022, it is joined by 29 institutes and extends work previously conducted under IEA EBC Annex 60.
