This webinar announces the winners of the 2025 Annual Competition and features a showcase of their outstanding projects. Award recipients will share insights into their design processes, emphasizing how effective visual communication can engage diverse stakeholders. Centered on data-driven design communication, the session will highlight strategies for translating complex analyses into clear, compelling graphics that support informed decision-making and impactful storytelling.

Kate Bomar

Kate Bomar is a Building Performance Engineer at IES based in Seattle, Washington. A licensed professional engineer, she brings expertise in energy modeling, daylight analysis, and embodied carbon assessment to support high-performance, sustainable building design. Kate is a two-time Stasio Annual Competition winner and an active IBPSA-USA Board Member. Her previous experience includes consulting roles at Positive Energy and Cyclone Energy Group, where she facilitated energy and carbon reduction with detailed analyses.

Lauren Günther

Lauren Günther, AIA, CPHC, LEED AP, is Director of Sustainability at DiMella Shaffer. She leads the firm’s sustainability strategy, education, and advocacy, with a focus on passive building principles, electrification, carbon reduction, and healthy materials. She serves on the Massachusetts Stretch Energy Code Technical Advisory Committee, advising on state energy code development.

Jiewei Li

Jiewei Li is a Building Science Specialist and data storyteller at Goody Clancy. His recent work bridges data visualization and design storytelling, focusing on daylight, future weather data, and thermal comfort to advance sustainability strategies in campus and architectural design.
