IBPSA-USA Student Ambassador

Become a Leader on Your Campus and in the Building Simulation Community

As a Student Ambassador, you’ll have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, connect with peers and industry professionals, and make a real impact on your campus community. You’ll play a key role in introducing your peers to IBPSA-USA, sharing opportunities for learning, networking, and professional growth in building performance simulation.

Who Can Apply

  • Current undergraduate or graduate students in architecture, engineering, building science, or related fields.
  • Passionate individuals interested in energy efficiency, high-performance buildings, and sustainable design and those who enjoy leadership, outreach, and professional networking.

What You’ll Do

  • Join a Committee – Participate in at least one IBPSA-USA committee to learn and contribute.
  • Host Awareness Sessions – Organize at least two annual events, including talks, workshops, or guest speaker sessions to advance and promote the science of building simulation and introduce your peers to IBPSA-USA.
  • Promote Engagement – Encourage fellow students to participate in IBPSA-USA events and initiatives.
  • Support Chapter Development – With guidance from the Membership and Chapters Committee, work toward establishing a campus-based IBPSA-USA chapter during or by the end of your annual term.

Time Commitment

  • Flexible engagement over an academic year (~5–10 hours per month).
  • Attend committee meetings and organize a minimum of 2 events per year. 

Certificate & Recognition

Ambassadors who actively participate and complete their program responsibilities will receive a certificate of recognition and be featured on the IBPSA-USA website. This ensures that recognition reflects meaningful engagement and contributions to the program.
