They say a picture is worth a thousand words. However, not all pictures are created equal: a good visualization tells a story and helps the viewer to understand the data. In this talk, I will discuss the seven sins of visualization, and how to avoid them. I will introduce guides on how to make excellent visualization choices, and close with some guidance on useful tools for visualization.

Andy received a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany in 2015, and has 10 years of experience in visualization-related fields.
