Uma Patwardhan

Uma Patwardhan acts as Director and Team Lead for the North America Sustainable Buildings Team Lead in JLL’s Sustainability Consulting team. With over 11 years of industry experience and a strong dedication to sustainability in commercial real estate, she specializes in guiding occupier and investor clients to align their properties with organizational ESG goals. Uma’s expertise is in developing sustainability programs and strategies, as well as implementing certifications such as LEED, WELL, WELL HSR, Fitwel, and Living Building Challenge. With her background in architecture, Uma has a unique perspective on building design, operation, and integrating sustainability into clients’ overall project strategies. ​ 

Ms Patwardhan holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from University of Mumbai, India and a Masters in Sustainable Design degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She is a member of International Living Future Institute (ILFI)’s Organizational Equity Advisory Group and served as a member of the Greenbuild Advisory Board in 2023. 

She is one of 20 people selected for JLL’s 2024 Emerging Leaders Program from the entire North America region. Uma’s notable speaking engagements in 2024 include Climate Registry’s Climate Leadership Conference and International Living Future Institute’s Living Future 2024.

Patrick Pease

Patrick Pease

Patrick is an associate principal at Buro Happold on the Advisory team and the US Building Performance Leader. An innovator in design and simulation process, Patrick uses technology to deliver high quality results and drive collaboration on projects. His past projects include both high performance design for complex projects – such as the Living Building Challenge Climate Exchange campus – and innovative solutions to building performance simulation. 

As a mechanical engineer and energy modeler for over a decade, Patrick has worked in the across the US and EU on an array of hospitality, commercial, higher education, laboratory, and healthcare building and campus developments. His passion for innovation and quality has included the creation of a wholly new energy modelling platform and publishing 5 papers at industry conferences. As an active member of ASHRAE and IBPSA, Patrick sits on the 90.1 ECB sub-committee, and is a voting member of ASHRAE SSPC 209 and the IBPSA Certification Committee.
