Coding in Building Performance Simulation

Presented by the IBPSA-USA Education Committee

Simbuild 2024 is one of the many indications that programming knowledge is gaining momentum and influence in building performance analyses. This webinar seeks to demystify the incorporation, workflows, and deliverables of practical applications of coding

Justin Shultz

Working alongside architects and engineers, Justin uses computational analysis to answer our most pressing sustainable design questions. As the leaders of Page's Building Performance Analysis team, he collaborates with clients and design teams to define sustainability goals, develop strategies and evaluate pathways to success. Justin provides performance-based recommendations that guide buildings to a more sustainable future.

Greg Collins

Greg is the founder of Zero Envy, an energy modeling consulting firm, and the BEM ToolBox, a platform providing free tools to energy modelers. He has 16 years of industry experience and volunteers as a member of the IBPSA-USA Building Data Exchange: Reporting working group, chair of the IBPSA-USA California BEM Practitioner Advocacy Committee, and a non-voting member of the ASHRAE 90.1 ECB Subcommittee. His current goal is to deliver better BEM reporting to the industry.

Jake Chevrier

Jake Chevrier is a computational designer and senior performance analyst with over 10 years of experience, working in SmithGroup's San Francisco office. He draws from his experiences as both an engineer and architectural designer to find sustainable synergies and drive decarbonization within the built environment.
