From Building Models to Carbon Strategy: A Career Journey in Building Performance

Carlos Kelly is a Project Executive and Building Performance Team Lead in BranchPattern’s Analytics practice, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He specializes in energy modeling, decarbonization strategy, and carbon accounting, helping owners, developers, and design teams quantify and reduce environmental impacts across the built environment. His work spans industrial real estate, data centers, commercial buildings, and portfolio-scale sustainability initiatives.

In addition to leading project delivery, Kelly supports the development of analytical tools, carbon benchmarking methodologies, and sustainability programs that help clients make informed decisions about energy, carbon, and building performance. He is experienced in LEED projects, energy analysis, carbon footprint, and strategic sustainability planning, and frequently contributes to industry research, technical publications, and conference presentations focused on advancing building decarbonization.
