IBPSA-USA Wisconsin Chapter: Winter 2023 Happy Hour

IBPSA-USA Wisconsin Chapter: Winter Happy Hour (December 7, 2023)

The past few months have been full of activity and inspiration, as many of the IBPSA-USA chapters across the nation have convened either in-person or online to share ideas, network, and look forward to 2024. In Madison, WI, the IBPSA-USA Wisconsin Chapter met during their quarterly meet-up to air grievances, reflect on the past year, and compete in a building science and sustainability meme contest. Members in attendance submitted memes before the meetup, and voted in-person on the most creative ones. Congratulations to Brad Carmichael for submitting the winning memes!

Members also had the chance to learn and discuss with Dr. Ida Balderrama-Trudell, who has been leading the efforts alongside IBPSA-USA’s DEI Committee in its creation of the Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging Resource Library.  If you have not had a chance already, take a moment to check out this new resource. We hope you can learn from these resources and share them with people in your workplace. The resources are organized by topic – e.g., Native American issues, environmental justice, LGBTQIA+, etc. Most of the resources are websites, podcasts, and books and a majority are free. The library also includes paid training opportunities from specific subject matter experts who offer consulting and reputable companies that offer training courses. This work was funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and developed by the IBPSA-USA DEI committee. You can read the DEI strategic plan  if you are interested in the committee’s work.
